I’m in the middle of a 3D modeling project as well; and the more I dabble into it, the more it makes sense to use your method of making 2D backgrounds! Really helps with perspective n’ all!

3D Models takes a lot of time, but in the other hand, it saves a Lot of it in the backgrounds and looks more profesional
